Nulo, a leading growth brand in the premium pet food category, announced that industry veteran and pet nutrition expert Dr. Greg Aldrich has joined the company as its Chief Operating Officer where he will provide daily leadership to business operations, supply chain management, R&D, product development, food safety and quality control.
“Greg is an exceptional leader and visionary in the pet industry and brings decades of relevant experience working with brands, retailers and academia – including 14 years consulting with Nulo as we built and scaled the business,” said Michael Landa, Nulo’s founder & CEO. “As COO, Greg will work closely with me to drive operational performance, accelerate the execution of our strategic roadmap and help secure our position as the industry’s leading innovator of premium dog and cat foods.”
Aldrich has been involved in the pet food industry since 1995. He has supported projects at over 200 client companies and helped develop thousands of pet food products since 2003 through his consulting company. Aldrich has been involved in planning and hosting Petfood Forum and has written more than 200 ingredient monographs for Petfood Industry magazine. In conjunction with these activities, he has served as professor at Kansas State University creating the first-of-its-kind pet food program, providing classroom instruction, teaching short courses, mentoring students and researching the impact of pet food processing on the nutritional efficacy of ingredient inputs. He and his students have presented and published this work in hundreds of academic and trade forums since 2011.
“I’ve had the good fortune to be in a front-row seat as Nulo started and grew into a prominent brand in the pet food industry,” stated Aldrich. “Michael has a sixth sense about the market and a mastery for product positioning. I look forward to continuing my relationship as a full-fledged team member and to helping Nulo implement new ideas and incredible products for our deserving pets.”
Greg and his wife, Susan, currently reside in Manhattan, Kansas, along with their silver Labrador retriever, Lucre.
