The Jackson Hole Avalanche Dogs are the hardest-working canines in their valley. Day in and day out, they work alongside ski patrol, practicing search and rescue techniques. They are trained to locate buried or missing skiers, snowmobilers, hikers, and climbers and are often dispatched to avalanche sites with helicopters as part of larger rescue units. That's why Jackson Hole has an incredible team of Avalanche Rescue Dogs, including Cache, Sparrow, Levi, Dolly, and Tobi.
In an avalanche dog, the team is typically looking for working breeds, dogs with a lot of drive and are especially good with people. Because this dog is meant to find people, they've got to love people. And Cache certainly meets that criteria.
