Texas-based Nulo Pet Food is donating over 6,000 pounds of their premium pet food to Operation Kindness in Carrollton, Texas on June 5th. Operation Kindness is the largest and oldest no-kill shelter in north Texas. They assist over 4,000 dogs and cats every year.
“Not only will this generous donation be beneficial to the dietary needs of the animals in our shelter, it will allow us to use the money saved in food purchases to allocate to other needs in the shelter. We appreciate what Nulo is doing very much,” said Sandra Laird, Director of Animal Care at Operation Kindness.
“Operation Kindness uses 150 lbs of food every day and we are proud to say that Nulo is feeding all 300 pets. We hope this allows the hard working staff to focus more on finding loving homes and less on securing food,” said Nulo representative Candy Cantrell.
Nulo inspires others to live active, healthy lives, and to provide our pets the same opportunity. “We believe that all pets deserve nutritious food and lots of love. Many of the dogs and cats at Operation Kindness’ shelter came from homes where they received neither. They are here for a fresh start and we think a nutritious meal is a great first step. We’re hoping this helps them feel a little more comfortable while they are waiting for their forever home,” said Nulo CEO, Michael Landa.

ABOUT NULO PET FOOD:
Nulo Pet Food started when its founder, Michael Landa, who has a long history in professional pet care and education, began to see an escalation in overweight pets, unhealthy lifestyles, and an increase in at-home insulin shots for diabetic cats and dogs. A study of 6,000 households and 11,000 dogs and cats confirmed the alarming trend – pets were essentially living in a “fast food nation.” Just like many of our human counterparts, dogs and cats continue to be significantly overfed and enticed with nutritionally inferior food products from big company marketers.
Determined to take a better approach to pet nutrition than what could be found on the market at the time, Landa worked hand-in-hand with leading scientists to develop Nulo’s nutritional platform and grain-free formulas – all with high animal-based proteins, low glycemic ingredients and a patented probiotic. Landa, a former All-American swimmer himself, cuts no corners when it comes to animal nutrition.
Nulo believes we are all ‘Healthier Together’ and its mission is to inspire people to live active, healthy lifestyles with their pets while making better choices in pet nutrition. Visit www.nulo.com for more product information and inspirational stories from other Nulo ambassadors.
