Over the weekend Ralphie and Riley competed at Rock-n-Dock in Foxboro, MA. During the week before the event the temperature had been in the 60s and low 70s. When we got to the event the temperature was in the mid 90s. It was very hot and the dogs had a very hard time dealing with the heat. Ralphie and Riley were jumping much shorter then they had been when we were practicing at our local club.
At the end of Friday, Ralphie competed in Extreme Vertical and did very well. He grabbed 5.4 and placed 3rd Cadet. He also placed 4th Iron Dog Warrior. He did pretty well considering the heat. He made Big Air finals on Sunday, but we had to go home Saturday after competing because of our crew race Sunday.
June 27 – 30 we will be competing in the Eastern Regional Championships in McHenry, MD. This event is a qualifier for the 2013 DockDog World Championships. The top 4 dogs in each division will get an invitation to Worlds. Ralphie and I will try to qualify for Cadet Extreme Vertical and Youth Handler Big Air. Gabby will try to qualify for Junior Big Air and Youth Handler Big Air.
We will wear our new Nulo shirts (which look awesome) and dog will wear their Nulo vests (which we’ve been getting tons of complements on). If you happen to be in town, stop by our tent and grab a free sample of Nulo and take a photo with Ralphie & Riley.
